Not a single day passes without some news on Tesla Motors' upcoming Model X, although this time the picture you see above is indirectly connected to the all-electric crossover.
So, long story short, Elon Musk took his time to post a photo on Instragram (embedded below) showing how the new Tesla production line looks like. And as some of you might have imagined, this could easily be robot paradise.
To make things clearer, we're talking about the Tesla Production Line 2, which is aimed to support production requirements for both the Model S and the Model X EVs from the same facility.
According to what Elon Musk describes in the photo's caption, the production line will be served by no less than 542 robots with 15 operating simultaneously at the central assembly point.
Truth be told, we're happy the Tesla CEO isn't building an army of Transformers, although he mentions that the robocalypse is a matter that worries him.
According to Teslarati, the Model X crossover and the Model S will share pretty much the same chassis, and the ability to adjust the production line in a dynamic fashion to serve both of the models will pave the way and help improve the upcoming Tesla Model 3 assembly methods.
Those plastic foils suggested the car just rolled off the production line and was in the process of being delivered or moved for display somewhere.
As for the Model X with the panel gaps, we're almost 100 percent sure Tesla engineers were testing latch failure for the crossover's falcon doors.
In any case, we think a reveal is imminent for the Model X, but we don't want to jump to a conclusion about a possible launch date at this point.
