Elon Musk Gives Marques Brownlee Tesla Factory Tour

Marques Brownlee (MKBHD) is one of the best-known technology vloggers currently occupying a Youtube channel. The man is so good at his job that nearly 7 million people are watching his videos. And they all got a surprise at the end of last week.

Elon Musk is… Well, you all know who Elon Musk is. The Tony Stark of our reality, but kind of shy when it comes to being interviewed. He’s more of a Twitter/Instagram kind of guy.

Last week’s tweets, however, you know, the ones about Tesla going private, seem to have crammed Musk into a corner he’s desperate to get out of. So desperate, he talked quite emotionally with the New York Times last week.

At about the same time he was being interviewd by journalists, Musk was also talking to Brownlee. And not just anywhere, but on the premises of the Tesla factory in California. And not only did they talk, but they also did a factory tour.

The first clip, namely the interview, was posted by Brownlee on August 17, and the second, meaning the tour, on August 20.

We, of course, are more interested in the factory tour part. One that was incredibly difficult to shoot, said the vlogger, as the facility is “extremely loud, and extremely busy.

Brownlee says what you’re about to see represents about 15 to 20 percent of the processes involved in the manufacturing of the Model S and Model X.

“It’s mostly just Elon showing us around, and, in fact, I didn’t even really say much during this interview,” Brownlee says at the beginning of the second video.

“I was kinda like a kid in the Matrix, just kinda absorbing everything. And it also cuts abruptly at the end, when Elon is pulled into his next meeting. But I still thought it was a ton of fun.”
