Oz-based Ellaspede shows a new Yamaha retro machine customized to sweet modern glory, a bike commissioned by local rider Matthew. The first and most important things was that Matthew managed to source a very good donor bike, running well and needing no engine tinkering and rebuilding,
So it was time for the hack and saw to play their tune, with the airbox being tossed right away, as one of the priorities. The rear subframe was also mofidied, for no less than three reasons: a mandatory cafe-racer attire, two-up riding and hiding the electronics.

The job went of flawlessly and the rear section looks factory-made, including the shuriken-like (Ninja star) license plate holder. And with the dual piggyback Öhlins rear shocks, things are also up for high-performance.

For BMW conical pod filters replaced the bulky airbox, and the carbs were rejetted, while at the other end of the combustion line, a high-flow Supertrapp exhaust. The headlight was lowered to allow the Acewell gauge to fit into the built better.

And since Matthew mentioned cafe-racer DNA, low-swung clip-ons also came in place. Many other small parts have been fabricated, updated and powder coated to match the original all-black attire of the bike, and the final shape is still to be revised with spoked wheels.
