Elia Renault Wind Coming to 2010 Essen Motor Show

Autumn is a controversial season for automotive enthusiasts, as it creates a set of mixed feeling and emotions. As the season brings a hefty amount of rain, the everyday traffic becomes more difficult to tackle and thus, the pleasure of driving is diluted. On the other hand, for those who like to play with their vehicles, the wet driving surface can be seen as an opportunity for testing the car’s limits in an interesting way.

And there’s another argument that should make autumn a fun season for car aficionados. We are talking about the season that puts tuning under the spotlights. First, there’s the SEMA show in the U.S. and we also get to enjoy the Essen Motor Show in Germany.

As we’ve already presented you the creations that came to the world at this year’s SEMA, it is now time to prepare for the Essen event, which will take place between November 27 and December 5. Let’s take a little time to see a gift that will offered by the German tuner Elia to the Renault Wind during the show.

The aftermarket developer will introduce a subtle modification pack for the little French topless vehicle, with the company now offering us two teaser (We think you can see what we mean) images for the project.

The Wind will receive an ECU remap that will bring an output premium of 16 hp and 28 Nm. However, Elia hasn’t mentioned if the mod is offered for the 100hp 1.2 liter turbocharged engine or for the 133 hp 1.6 liter engine. The extra power and torque will be handled just fine, as the car will be fitted with a sports suspension and a set of 18 inch alloy rims wrapped in 205/35 (front) and 235/30 (rear) tires.

The list of modifications will also include certain discreet aerodynamic elements, as well as the addition of LED daytime running lights.
