Recently-retired New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning has joined the All In Challenge, aka the most impressive effort by celebrities, sportsmen and businesspeople to raise funds for charities helping out during the current international health crisis.
The All In Challenge was started by Fanatics founder Michael Rubin, and the idea behind it is very simple: public figures are “challenged” to offer a once-in-a-lifetime experience to the highest bidder, or the winner in a raffle. You can enter a raffle with a donation as small as $10.
Eli Manning is just the latest celebrity to throw his hat in the ring – and he’s going all in with it. Each year, since 1967 through to 2015, the Super Bowl MVP was awarded with the keys to a brand new car. In 2012, the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots, and MVP Eli Manning won a beautiful 2012 Corvette Grand Sport Convertible Centennial Edition.
He’s including it in the auction package, as the video at the bottom of the page confirms.
So, one lucky fan can donate to the cause and get the chance to win this sweet ride. Even more, that fan will be treated to a one-on-one experience with Manning, which includes hand-delivery of the car at a mutually-agreed-upon date, some hanging out time (and maybe dinner), and even some tips “on how to handle this bad boy,” the NFL legend says.
Shipping is donated by FedEx, so whoever wins the car won’t have to worry about additional costs. “Feel the wind in your hair as you hit the open road in an authentic Super Bowl MVP award,” the description of the auction package notes.
The 2012 ‘Vette comes in Titanium with black leather interior, and just 5,830 miles on the clock. Bidding started at $10,000 and as of the time of press, with 5 more days to go until the auction closes, it’s at $130,000. The winner must live in the United States, so there’s that to consider before getting too excited at the prospect of bidding for this beauty.
All the proceeds raised with Manning’s package will go to Meals On Wheels, Feeding America, World Central Kitchen and No Kid Hungry.
