That's quite the mix, don't you agree? A 1,341 hp electric Nissan GT-R lookalike that'll be produced in Italy's Motor Valley where companies such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani or Maserati also have their headquarters - not a bad recipe, for sure.
And that's not even the entire story. The people behind Elektron One also have a very strong foot planted in the Formula E racing series as they are the owners of the Italian-Turkish Scuderia-e outfit. That means there's plenty of expertise there in how to make a battery-powered car go fast and handle well, which is always a great thing when designing a vehicle like the Elektron One.

The car is currently in a prototype stage, but the company plans to reveal it to the public at the 100th Geneva Motor Show - you know, if anyone will be allowed to get out of the house next March. The impressive but weird power output figure gains a lot more sense once you convert it to kilowatts because that makes it a very round 1,000 of them. Or a megawatt, as your high school physics teacher would quickly point out.

Things look and sound promising for the Elektron One, and the people behind it seem to keep their feet on the ground. They're not planning a massive rollout for the electric sports car, predicting around 140 units during the first year of production.

They also know the market can only soak up so many $1,000,000-plus electric hypercars like the Rimac C2 and the Pininfarina Battista, so they aim to keep the Elektron One at a slightly more reasonable level. That being said, expect the final cost to sell for anything between $300,000 and $350,000, so not exactly peanut money.

With so many EV startups going the way of the dodo lately, we have a good feeling about the Elektron One. The car looks great and even though we've compared it to a Nissan GT-R, we think it has plenty of character from an aesthetics point of view. The company behind it clearly knows what it's doing and is setting reasonable goals for itself. Besides, it seems like the market is much more settled and people have come to terms with the idea that electric can - and usually will - mean quick.
