Electronics Saved this Mercedes Driver From Destroying a C-Class on Nurburgring

If you happen to land on the Nurburgring without having proper performance driving experience, there are two things you need to do. The first involves keeping your car's electronic nannies on (providing it has any), while the second should see you adapting your speed to your skill.

Well, the driver of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class in the piece of footage below at least didn't play the racer card by trying to disable the electronics. And that was a brilliant move, since the W205's well-calibrated ESC (Electronic Stability Control) is what saved the man from crashing the sedan.

We can see the driver entering the Brunchen turn while carrying way to much speed and while the man realizes his mistake, it's too late to avoid exiting the track.

The car, which seems to be coming from a special Mercedes-Benz event, exits and starts dancing its way through the gravel trap, nearly missing the metallic element on the side, with the driver panicking and slamming on the brakes throughout the maneuver - without ESC, such an input could've had the potential to send the car spinning.

Fortunately, it all ended well for both the driver and the car - Perhaps the extreme moment seen here can serve as a lesson to aspiring Nurburgring lappers.

Right now, some of you might be wondering how such a near-crash would look if electronics were replaced with a seriously-skilled driver, one that somehow still managed to get himself in such a situation.

Well, we need to look no further back than September last year to bring you an example of such a scenario. That's when a Porsche Cayman guy with tons of experience managed to miss the barrier by one or two inches, continuing his lap as if nothing had happened - here's rally-styling adventure, in case you missed it.
