The spare-no-expense public unveiling the Audi e-tron earlier this week is just starting to show its true magnitude.

While guests and viewers were mesmerized by the Intel drones flying over the San Francisco Bay as a welcome party for the electric SUV, Audi was just starting to show the world how well prepared it is for the arrival of a car it has a lot of hopes riding on.

Bit by bit, the pieces of the puzzle fall into place to reveal perhaps one of the best-planned market launch of an electric car in history. The Germans seem to have thought about everything, including who will install chargers at e-tron owners’ homes or how much to charge them for juicing up their cars.

As it said on Wednesday, Amazon, through its Home Services, will be handling the installation of charging points in U.S. homes. While on the road, future e-tron owners now know they can charge their vehicles using Electrify America’s network.

Electrify America, a company set up by Volkswagen two years ago to pave the way for e-tron's arrival, said it has cooked up a nationwide charging plan. This plan calls for e-tron owners to receive 1,000 kilowatt-hours of charging over a period of four years from its stations.

The Electrify America charging network will comprise by July 2019 500 fast-charging sites throughout 40 states and in 17 metropolitan areas. A total of 2,000 chargers will be located on average 70 miles apart on highways across the country.

Back in April, the company signed a partnership with to install chargers at Walmart locations across 34 states. This effectively makes the retailer the biggest charging stations host in the United States.

Among the chargers to be deployed is ABB’s Terra High Power charger, a 350 kilowatts charger capable of providing electric cars with 125 miles (200 km) of power in just eight minutes.

The e-tron SUV is already under production at the facility the brand operates in Brussels, Belgium and deliveries are expected to begin by the end of the year.
