The recently-unveiled Extrigger electric monkey bike is a good way to measure the new waters Suzuki seems to be sailing. Modern and by far radically different from the usual Hamamatsu machines, this small electric bike looks like a bold first step in to a new era for Suzuki.
Though powered by the rather modest engine and battery of the E-Let scooter, the Extrigger is at worse, a glorious platform for developing new electric machinery.
One cool thing is that the battery back is easy to replace by the rider: this is a good way to ensure future customers will be willing to buy at least one more battery pack for easily extending their range though quick swapping.
Another interesting take on future bikes is the Casio Visible Light Communication System (VLC), which allows Extriggers to link to each other. To me, the red light looks a bit like HAL and this is not exactly comfortable.
