Electric Cars Helping Smokers Quit?

How the hell could driving a car make you stop smoking? These two things usually come hand in hand, especially in a traffic jam, that time you have nothing to do then wait. Well, the answer could come from what type of car you drive.

I’m pretty sure owning a supercar or even a sportscar will at least make you smoke less, if you’re not dumb enough to stink up the interior and even burn a few holes here and there, but same thing can be achieved driving a normal electric vehicle, like a Nissan Leaf for example.

While the first example makes you fear damage and depreciation because of smoking, an electric car simply keeps you away from buying cigarettes. How? Simply put, you’ll never have to walk into a gas station anymore, a place you’d normally spend some extra bucks on cigarettes after you’re done filling up the tank.

At least that’s what a salesman at Magic Nissan in Everett, Washington told Plug-In America recently after finding out that 10 of his customers have already stopped smoking after purchasing a Leaf EV.

Yes, although it's not being based on a large scale study, it might seem like a coincidence maybe, but it does make sense. An EV won’t definitely make you quit smoking, but it surely does its job aiding you with that. In fact, it could also make you stay away from other bad stuff you could spend money on at a gas station, like sweets, snacks or soda.

Guess in this case it’s 1-0 for EVs versus hydrogen fuel cell cars.
