The BMW prophecy is true, or so it seems, as the R nineT reaches more and more places: this bike is set to become one of the most popular production machines created for customization. And as Roland Sands is working hard on his nameless (yet) NineT, El Solitario is not idling, either.
Unlike Roland, El Solitario David Borras already found a name for the bike, El Impostor, and the fact that the machine must be in Portland, Oregon this weekend, at the One Motorcycle show, is most likely one of the reasons.

There is not a single El Solitario with common, looks, and David Borras kept the tradition going. As the stock R nineT is a naked machine, he thought of adding some bodywork... in the shape of welded metal wire, to create a wireframe around the bike.

The same stainless steel rods have been bent and welded in the shape of very enduro-looking cylinder guards. And everything is being done as a "dress up" job.

"In fact we decided the very first day that we would not touch the bike or any of its functional components (minus the wheels, lights, silencer and controls). Not a single drill or cut has been made on the bike, nor a single cable replaced or relocated. We just dressed the factory’s structure. This means that under the stainless body you have a 100 percent original R nineT which can be maintained by any BMW dealership or specialist, eyes shut, on the run," David Borras says.

The One Motorcycle Show runs February 7-9, 2014.
