With less than two months to go until the 2015 Dakar Rally begins, team X-Raid announced its line-up for the 37th edition of the most famous rally in the world. No less than eight MINI ALL4 Racing cars were chosen and athletes from 10 different countries will join in the adventure.
Of course, Joan ‘Nani’ Roma will be looking to preserve his titles won last year and the year before that. He will be joined, just like before by French navigator, Michel Perin and be driving a Monster Energy Rally Raid car.
Other crews will be made up by Orlando Terranova and Bernardo ‘Ronnie’ Graue from Argentina and Krzystztof Holowczyc (Poland) and Xavier Panseri (France) for the same X-Raid Team banners.
For MINI, the 2015 Dakar Rally will be the next chapter of a story that has been unexpectedly successful so far. Having already won three consecutive titles in the FIA World Cup and three victories in the aforementioned rally, next year’s edition is shaping up to be the most difficult one since the move from Africa to South America in 2009.
“With its extremely demanding route and highly challenging racing conditions the Dakar Rally is not only a thrilling off-road event to millions of motorsport fans. It is also the ultimate test for drivers, teams and cars alike,” says Jochen Goller, Senior Vice President MINI.
“We are more than pleased to enter the 2015 Dakar Rally with a professional, experienced team in our strategic partners of the X-raid Team, a highly competitive driver line-up and a proven winner in the MINI ALL4 Racing,” he added.
Starting out in Buenos Aires (AR) and traveling in a great loop across the South American continent through Chile and Bolivia back to Argentina, more than 9,000 challenging kilometres is the task at hand for all competitors. The kick off takes place on January 3rd.
