Exactly one century ago, the inaugural edition of the EICMA (Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori) laid the foundation of the planet’s biggest event dedicated to two and three-wheeled mobility. The dates for the EICMA 2014 have been announced: November 6-9, with 4 and 5 being the days reserved to the press and business.
Along its 100 years history, the EICMA has become the favorite place and time for the manufacturers to introduce new models and concepts, and this added even more to the event’s almost magical allure. This year’s edition will not be any different, as it’s only late March and some very interesting bikes are already expected to be presented during the November show.

Yesterday we reported about the two new Ducati machines which are to be unveiled soon, the monster 821 and the Scrambler. While the new liquid-cooled Monster version looks ready to rock and roll, the same cannot be said about the Scrambler, even though some voices claim it could indeed be ready for the spotlight by November.

Other bikes are said to break cover at the EICMA 2014, such as the LC versions of BMW’s R1200ST and R1200R, the revised Aprilia RSV4 and possibly new Scarabeo scooters, even Honda’s new 750-series machines with DCT transmission and the long-expected new Africa Twin. Suzuki is expected to show a new Burgman 400 maxi scooter, while Yamaha is said to bring yet another MT machine, possibly a crossover/ touring bike based on their new 3-cylinder engine. Other appearances people seem to be looking forward to see are the new Honda CBR1000RR and possibly the MotoGP-derived RCV1000 machine, or the new Yamaha YZF-R1.

Even if the EICMA 2014 is still some good 7 months away, time is ticking away…
