EICMA 2010 Motorcycle Show Sets Attendance Record

The 68th edition of the Milan Fair managed to achieve a impressive attendance figures this year, and autoevolution was there to witness it all. Despite the rainy weather, and a critical period for the motorcycle market, the EICMA 2010 international bike show attracted a record number of visitors, with over 500.000 people coming to the event.

For five days, the show was home 45.708 operators, including 12.583 from foreign countries, with the number of visitors increased every day in comparison to the last year's show: +5% on the first day, +18% on the second, +24% on the third and +13% on the final day.

The efforts made in the communication area resulted in the presence of 2.104 registered media representatives and stunning success (+30% compared with 2009) achieved by internet platform’s contents (articles, interviews, photos, videos) constantly updated in real time. This year’s event also hosted Mediaset huge TV set used for “live” transmissions dedicated to MotoGP.

The side events also registered a great success, including the Green Planet, Fiorenzo Magni dedicated show and Young Designers For Mobility exhibition, Tourism on two wheels and "Custom City" (an excellent debut year), as well as Motolive.

"It was a beautiful show,” stated EICMA General Director, Costantino Ruggiero, “rewarding the hard work and passion of our team, a small group of amazing professionals."

"This show represented a very valuable opportunity for us,”
added Amedeo Colombo and Antonello Montante, the most notable among the small number of bike expositors, "we cannot understand the choice by most of the bike manufacturers not to take advantage of it."
