The Japanese from Kawasaki brought to Italy these days pretty much the entire lineup of models which they launched onto the market starting from late 2009 and until today, including supersports, street sports, cruisers and so on.

Among them, the 1400 GTR, with its promised new colors (black/matte black, dark green metallic/matte black), comes to present itself to the media and public attending the event. The flagship tourer of the bike maker is powered by a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke in-line engine, which is paired to a 6 speed return transmission.

The GTR is packed with technology, starting with the multi-function display with an outside air temperature monitor and ending with electrically adjustable windscreen. The bike maker's first traction control system is also featured on the model, while a tire pressure monitoring systems makes sure the ride is as smooth as they get. The K-ACT (Kawasaki Advanced
Coactive-braking Technology) ABS makes sure the braking power is distributed as needed.

As with any bike, Kawasaki offers a wide range of optional features, including the much-craved after accessories: top case, interior bags, backrest, GPS bracket and different version of top shell covers.

There are several versions of the 1400 GTR available, with the next generation to be introduced no later than two months from now, in February 2011. Until then, buyers can opt for the ZZR1400 or the ZZR1400 performance editions. Regardless of the model, the bike in itself is a good choice, believes Kawasaki.

“Its insatiable appetite for miles and traveling shows in the added storage capacity, scratch protection pads and satnav-support,” the bike maker says.
