Harley Davidson enthusiasts (and not only) can be thrilled, as the American bike maker is allowing them to get a close look at the 2011 Softail Deluxe model at this year’s EICMA show.

However, since not all of you can attend the event - we decided to send our team there in order to offer you an on-line coverage of the bikes there, with the emphasis now on the aforementioned American icon.

The Softail Deluxe comes with full fenders that offer it distinctive lines and a cruising profile, also making extensive use of chrome.

The motorbike is powered by an air-cooled, Twin Cam engine that has a 96 cubic inches (1,586 cc) capacity and delivers 93.7 lb-ft (127 Nm) at 3,000 rpm. The unit uses Electronic Sequencial Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) and has a compression ratio of 9.2:1, returning a city fuel consumption of 35 mpg and a highway fuel consumption of 54 mpg. The powerplant uses a chromed exhaust, with a straight over/under layout (this uses dual mufflers).

The braking power is provided by a system that uses four-piston calipers for the front wheel and two-piston calipers for the rear one.

Customers can choose to have the ride finished in Vivid Black, Cool Blue Pearl or Merlot Sunglo as well as in a two-tone color schemes, such as Birch White/Vivid Black, Dark Candy Root Beer/Light Candy Root Beer, Psychedelic Purple/Vivid Black or Apple Green/Vivid Black.

The 2011 Softail Deluxe can be yours for a starting price of $16,799 (this is the US market pricing). Customers can also choose the optional Security Package, which includes ABS and a Smart Security System.
