The kick-scooters have been around for around 100 years. First they were hand made out of wood and rudimentary components. Nowadays, they are motorized and much more advanced also moving into the electric propulsion area.
A German manufacturer, Egret, has recently launched a (relatively) affordable electric kick-scooter, which also looks quite funky and could be gobbled up by hipsters everywhere. The scooter features 3 speed levels ( from 6 to 30 km/h) and ranges varying from 18 to 29 km. Its construction is also very simple and it can be folded away in seconds.
We like the Egret and we think that, with the right marketing behind it, it could sell by the millions. It’s practical, and as we said, relatively cheap at €885 ($1,130), so we’re very interested in seeing more of it in the future.
