An important recognition of the work done these past two years has been achieved by ECOtality, one of the most important players on the EV charging solution providers market. The company's Blink Level 2 home charging station has been recognized by the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Listing.
UL, an independent organization which provides safety testing and certification on various products, has given the product the certification after finding it to be compliant with Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) standard, for both plug-in and hardwired models, as well as with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Federal Code of Regulation (CFR) pertaining to radio and frequency emitting devices.
“Our smart Blink Home Charging Station was created combining elements of intelligence, ease, and safety. Our goal was to provide consumers with an electric vehicle charging solution that would be better for the environment, renewable, more cost effective, and safe,” said Jonathan Read, ECOtality CEO.
“Having the UL Mark on our products authenticates our commitment to safety, and dedication to providing reliable and innovative EV charging solutions.”
Back in July 2010, UL announced the launch of a training program, offered through the UL University, which will give a working basis for all those who are involved in any activities related to chargers.
The program was launched in fall and is meant as a tool to implement company-specific training programs for the people working in this segment of the industry. A webinar has also been set up on UL's electric vehicle safety standards, to allow people to get accustomed to the standards developed and proposed by UL.
