eBay Find: 500-Mile ’71 Toyota Land Cruiser

We hoped too this was a preserved car like that Mark III Supra we showed you a week before, but in fact it is a restored 1971 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. Still, it looks absolutely fresh and doesn’t cost a fortune.

The owner here says this FJ40 has been fully restored just a few years ago and has only been driven a few hundred miles since then, the rest of the time having been spent in a garage. So there are no signs of rust, just some minor paint defects near the refueling cap and under the pedal cluster due to fluids spill when the paint was fresh.

It also comes with new steering, tie rods, springs, shock absorbers, battery, new brake lines, gas tank, fuel lines as well as refurbished axles and transmission, which by the way has been upgraded to a 4-speed from a 1978 FJ.

The engine has been also taken apart and has a rebuilt carburetor, alternator and starter, while the intake, water neck, air filter case and valve cover have been replated/polished.

On the inside, everything looks as clean as the exterior - it comes with refurbished original seats, original mirrors, seat belts and steering wheel. And you should also know that it’s fitted with an optional rear heater.

The man asks for $23,000, but you’ll have to hurry because the ad will expire soon.
