Early starts are followed by penalties and this goes for pretty much any type of competition, motorcycle racing included. However, it's technically impossible to do a wheelie if you're running in the marathon... and wheelies are one of the downsides of motorcycle racing.
Now, we've seen all sorts of wheelie-related crashes, but the poor racer in this video reign supreme. Anticipation and bad luck shook hands that day and things went wrong for the racer: first off, he started early and was heading for some penalty or even getting disqualified. So what ensued was really not necessary...
Hurled into a brutal wheelie, the guy falls on his back, and that could have been enough, already. But as bad luck was in command, the bike coming down and smashing him hard in the groin was the icing on the cake. No more racing that afternoon, penalty or not.
