E30 BMW M3 with Nissan Skyline GT-R RB26DETT Engine Will Offend Everybody

Earlier this month, the Nurburgring has welcomed a machine that has made a tradition out of visiting the infamous German track. And the special thing about this vehicle is that we're talking about an extreme engine swap job that has the power to offend both camps.

Since we're looking at an E30 BMW M3 that now has a Nissan Skyline GT-R heart, we're expecting Bimmer aficionados to seriously dislike this one - the E30 now fully deserves the status of a cult car, so removing its four-cylinder mill in favor of a Nissan powerplant could easily have such an effect.

You would imagine that there might be some Skyline GT-R fans who are happy to see that their favorite hardware has reached far into BMW M territory.

However, the straight-six mill under the hood of this E30 M3 is technically not an RB26DETT anymore. And that's because the owner has replaced the factory turbos with a single unit (we're talking a hefty setup involving a Borg Warner EFR 7063 T4 twin-scroll unit).

As for what the said trip to the Ring involves, the onwer took to Instagram to explain the preparations he decided to make for this year's adventure.

"Prepping the car for the yearly trip to the Nürburgring. Had the cams out to check for a knocking sound, that turned out to be the backing plate for the timing belt. New spark plugs, fresh coolant, new oil and filters, new oil on the diff, AEM CAS trigger disc and some detailing. There is also a dyno session coming up," the aficionado stated.

The dyno run allowed us to find out that this M3 now packs 408 hp and 523 Nm of torque and keep in mind that we're talking about the figures at the rear wheels, which means that the crank output of the thing sits closer to 500 ponies.

You can check out the swap-frenzy M3 doing its thing on the Green Hell in the YouTube clip below.
