Each year, we bring you tons of Nurburgring crashes, with these accidents being put to use as driving lessons that hopefully help other drivers avoid the dreaded guardrail kiss. However, the ka-bang we're here to show you now is different, since this involves lapping the Green Hell in reverse configuration.
This accident involves an E30-generation BMW 3 Series and this is an excellent choice for hitting the Nurburgring, as long as you're an experimented driver who knows how to keep a car under control without the help of electronics.

And no, this Bavarian machine didn't mistake its way around the Nordschleife. Instead, we're talking about a car that took part in the recent Rallye Köln-Ahrweiler. so going the other way round was only normal for the event.

Of course, this means we're talking about a racing-prepped incarnation of the senior Bimmer.

Alas, it looks like the driver of the machine wasn't fully prepared for the reverse lap, since the man clearly choose a poor way into (out of?) the Carousel.

And, given the extreme configuration of the said bend, the ups and downs of the location weren't kind to the BMW. So, once the driver carried too much speed into the bend, while also using a less-than-ideal line, there wasn't much left to do - by the way, the track was wet, but this isn't anything special, since the capricious weather is one of the most dangerous elements of the infamous German track.

Despite the driver's efforts, the 3er ended up nose-first into the metallic protection element on the side of the track.

Oh, well, at least the aficionado did the right thing after the impact. To be more precise, the driver decided to take the car out of the danger zone as quickly as possible. And while his maneuvers might seem extreme (one of the front wheels was badly bent), the extra abuse took a smaller toll on the car than a potential second impact involving another car crashing in similar fashion.
