Dunlop Joins Isle of Man TT as Official Tire Partner

Tire manufacturer Dunlop has been confirmed today as the 'Official Tire Partner' for the 2011 TT Races, fueled by Monster Energy. The company is no stranger to this racing series, with many great names in the TT history having recorded victories using Dunlop tires.

All of the solo TT races in the last two years were won by riders using Dunlop tires, including Ian Hutchinson's record breaking five victories in 2010 and Steve Plater's race winning performance in 2009, that included the new Senior TT Race record.

Iconic names from the past who used Dunlop tires at the TT Races include 'Rocket' Ron Haslam, Roger Marshall, Mick Grant, Roger Burnett and Joey Dunlop.

Other partners and sponsors of the TT Races includes headline sponsor Monster Energy, 'Official Mobile and Broadband' Partner Sure, 'Official Timing' Partner Graham London, Superstock race sponsor and 'Official Life Assurance and Pensions' Partner Royal London 360 and 'Official Lubricants' Partner Motul. Isle of Man based PokerStars, the event's 'Official Gaming' Partner, will this year sponsor the Senior TT, while Arai are again the event's 'Official Helmet' Supplier.

"The TT Races commercial programme continues to grow and it is fitting that in the year of the centenary of the Mountain Course, one of the companies that has become synonymous with the event has become a commercial partner,"
said Allan Bell MHK, Minister for Economic Development.

"Dunlop is delighted to become the Official Tire Partner of the TT Races. The Mountain Course is one of the world's toughest circuits and our success in the event over the years has provided us with excellent recognition for the performance and technology of our tires,"
added Eddy Geerdink, Dunlop Marketing Director.
