There is something dark brewing at Ducati's headquarters, and the latest video teaser tells us that we will find out on November 16th, one day before the EICMA 2015 opens it doors for the press guys.
What is Borgo Panigale up to is still a thing of mystery, as there were no spy shots flowing from Ducati as of late. Someone at Ducati sort of spilled the beans earlier this autumn and rumors of no less than nine new bikes started to circulate.
As it is impossible that Ducati shows nine new models at EICMA, we are led to believe that this whole black thing mystery is a hint to a new all-black trim the Borgo Panigale guys prepare for their bike line-up.
Ducati sort of has nine main models, so...
Having the "nine new bikes" rumor on one hand prompted us to run a quick check of Ducati's line-up, and guess what we found out! No less than nine main models are available for 2016... because the Scrambler is marketed separately.
Just to make sure, here we go: Diavel, Hypermotard, the Monster 821 and 1200, Multistrada, Streetfighter 848, 899 Panigale, the 1299 Panigale, and the Panigale R Now, please remember we are in Supposition Land, and almost nothing can be taken for granted.
We grouped all the Monsters in 821 and 1200 classes, as they are base models, with only two displacements, whereas Ducati has three distinctive Panigale engines.
If anything, these models might be referred to in conjunction with the attributes in the teaser: elegant, rough, explicit, mysterious, gentle, and brutal, but linking them to specific bikes is a thing we won't do now, and not here.
We're off to the bookies to put some cash on the all-black Ducati versions and if we lose, well, at least it was a nice game. However, remember we'll be in Milan this November, so you should bookmark ourt website if you haven't done it already.
