Ducati Scrambler Name Trademarked in the US

Remember when we told you that A&R got wind of some dark operations at Ducati and some hidden plans to possibly start the manufacturing of a scrambler?
Well, it's the same Asphalt & Rubber guys who've been keeping a watchful eye on the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and they've recently discovered that Ducati has filed a request to register the "Ducati Scrambler" trademark.

“IC 012. US 019 021 023 031 035 044. G & S: Vehicles; apparatus for locomotion by land” might hint toward the imminent new bike, even though the same trademark was registered for numerous other things, such as clothing (Ducati apparel), and other funny ones like precious metals (Ducatium or Scramblerium, maybe), paper products, photography and many more.

Still, no one could tell for sure whether this fall brings a scrambler with the Borgo Panigale manufacturer badge, or whether the engine of the potential machine will be a water- or air-cooled one, thumper or twin. There are many things happening at the EICMA and Ducati is already preparing a new superbike...
