It's not the first time when the Thai branch of Ducati shows custom machines built as if to show that local designers are, at times, better than the Italian ones in Borgo Panigale. So here's a new treat in the shape of this million-dollar-looks Mike Hailwood-inspired Scrambler.
This to-die-for bike will only be manufactured in a very limited run of 58 units, and apparently at least 25 of them are already gone. The base machine used by Ducati Thailand is the Icon, and this means we're dealing with the 803cc L-twin version of the Scrambler.

The most striking thing about this bike is, of course, the paint scheme which involves an eye-candy combination of red and green, with white pinstripes and panels, custom-shaped side panels and a tail section that looks simply perfect.

Still a scrambler, this bike retains the naked attire but manages to introduce a strong '70s vibe thanks to the small rounded front cowl and the tinted fly screen. It may look skimpy, but we know it will improve significantly the wind protection at higher speed during longer hauls.

A different tail light was used for the bespoke tail section and the rear turn signals have also been integrated into it. Multiple other parts were sourced from the Scrambler aftermarket catalog. The dual Termignoni silencers hark back to the two-stroke era and are a most welcome addition to the build. The grips are Panigale ones, and it looks like the cast golden wheels are also Ducati units.

The price is not the strongest point for these bikes, as they go for 699,000 Thai Bhat, which is around $19,800 or €17,750, and this doesn't include shipping and whatever other costs taking a bike on the road involve. Still, being such exclusive and good-looking machines, we'll have to cope with the fact that nothing fancy comes cheap.
