Ducati is expanding its range with two models at the World Ducati Week in early July (1 to 3) at the Misano Wold Circuit in Misano. One of the new bikes is the much-anticipated 90th Anniversary machine, albeit what model will it be based on is still a closely-guarded secret.
Mystery surrounds the other motorcycle, as well, and the best guesses appear to indicate that a new Scrambler model might be in line. The odds for a new member of this family are also supported by the fact that Ducati used the WDW event two years ago to launch what would later become the best-selling bike in Italy, the base-model Scrambler.

The WDW is a meeting that takes place every two years instead of yearly and this edition will also host the first-ever Scrambler rally, so the moment will weigh quite a lot.

Of course, the teasing campaign for the initial (reborn) Scrambler almost drove people insane, but, at least, all the waiting was worth it. This time, however, Ducati flew under the radar, without any hints as to how their new machines would be, leaving everyone guessing.

Recently, rumors of a bigger displacement Scrambler surfaced, indicating that Borgo Panigale might prepare an 1100cc version scramblie, powered by the 1078cc l-twin Monster EVO mill used in the past. With the other end of the spectrum already covered by the 400cc Scrambler that can also be delivered in A2-compliant trim, a bigger, more evil version could be an option if you ask us.

As to the 90th Anniversary bike, it's anyone's guess. We put our money on a Panigale customized with a retro look that would evoke one of the historic sports bikes Bologna put on the road back in the day. A bit predictable, maybe, but looking at the success a similar idea from BMW enjoys (the R nineT), we'd say that Ducati could, at least, to try and replicate such a move. Of course, a special Diavel can't be ruled out, either. Cometh, July!
