Borgo Panigale has revealed a second video trailer, titled "This Is X," adding to the whole mystery that surrounds the new models that Ducati plans to unveil this very autumn. As you probably know already, Ducati said that no less than nine new models will be added to the 2016 line-up, so we're still a long way from knowing the whole truth.
This Is X is at least as mysterious and scarce in information as the previous teaser, so there's not much to be told. If anything, the X stands for crossing of... things, but which things are to be considered is yet impossible to tell.

So far, we know that Ducati will reveal the 959 Panigale and the Hypermotard 939 at Milan on the eve of EICMA 2015, with two other models on the fast lane. We are talking about the Monster 1200 R that made a full debut earlier this year and the Diavel-based cruiser we showed to you recently.

A Ducati crossover, anyone?

With no info about other motorcycles that will be unveiled at the Ducati World Premiere 2016 on November 16th, it's hard to guess what crosses what. The X may stand for the new muscle bike rumored to give Harley V-Rod a run for the money. It's true that this very bike crosses the pure Ducati Euro powercruiser with the American muscle bike genes, but this might just not be it.

A crossover bike to slot under the Multistrada 1200 cannot be ruled out of the big picture either, especially as Ducati wants to expand to other developing markets, where the figure on the price tag often weighs more than the badge on the tank.

Frankly, we can only hope that Ducati's teasers will become a little more revealing about the nature of the upcoming bikes. For now, things are so fuzzy that we can't even tell whether Ducati has prepared a teaser and an "attribute" for each of the new bikes.
