While Ducati was one of the Western pioneers to start selling bikes in India back in 2008, their partnership with local dealer Precision Motor did not work. Ducati is now poised to start things anew, this time doing everything properly, with their own distribution and service network.
The undersized and ill-equipped former dealer network administered by Precision Motor failed to tend to both sales and aftersale services, and Ducati virtually stopped selling bikes during the last months, Indian sources report.
Ducati is already readying their own dealership network in India and it looks like it will become fully operational quite soon. Until then, Precision Motor will continue to provide customers with service support.
The new Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Ducati, Cristiano Silei adds that the company is looking forward to strengthen their presence in India, acknowledged as a very important market.
