Ducati Monster 796 Arrives at US Dealerships

The North American division of Ducati announced today that the new Monster 796 machine will be arriving at nationwide dealerships from June 25th, with test drives to be scheduled starting from the next day. This will be the first 2011 Ducati model in the range to go to the United States.

Propelled by a new Desmodue 796 engine, the motorbike is fitted with the micro-bikini fairing and single seat cover as standard.

Delivering 87hp (64kW), having a dry weight of just 167kg (368lb) and optional ABS, the new Monster 796 comes in traditional Ducati red, new arctic white silk or diamond black silk. All three colors are set against a red Trellis frame and black wheels, which feature a new short-style red flash around the rim side that creates a full red stripe at speed.

The riding position has also been revised by reducing the seat height by a full 10mm (compared to the Monster 1100) to 800mm, whilst the handlebars have been raised by 20mm.

“Monster riders who love to customize their bikes will be delighted at the arrival of the new Logomania body kits, designed to change the color of a bike in a matter of minutes using classic Ducati designs from over the years,” a company statement reads.

Ducati announced it will also make available a set of accessory passenger grab handles, designed for added passenger comfort without sacrificing looks.

The new Monster 796 will be available in white, black or Ducati red. The two-wheeled naked bike will come with an MSRP of $9,995.
