Despite the fact that Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali strongly denied any plans of building a maxi-scooter, it looks like some winds are whispering that this is actually happening.
While the pictured maxi-scooter is only a rendering, it's hard to believe that Ducati will deliver anything else than a premium big-bore beast.
The maxi-scooter market seems to be growing quite well of late, and more customers are drawn by scooters powered by engines 600cc and bigger. Yamaha , Aprilia and BMW are already offering a nifty line-up of such two-wheelers and Ducati could be tempted to try this direction, too.
InSella also mentions that such a Ducati-developed maxi-scooter could be even sold as a Audi or VW-branded machine, mimicking the way BMW introduces its C-series.
Some claim that the Ducati maxi-scooter could be in fact shown at the end of 2014, possible with a 700cc-ish liquid-cooled v-twin mill and plenty of electronics, such as ABS, traction control and more.
Now, this is one scooter we'd so like to see rolling down from Bologna...
