Ducati India Finally Opens Dealerships in Mumbai, Delhi and Gurgaon

It’s been more than once when we wrote about Ducati’s new business plans for India, but it’s with joy that we can announce that Ducati India Private Limited started actual operations in three of the country’s biggest cities, Mumbai, Delhi and Gurgaon, with the latter claimed to be the largest Ducati dealership in the whole global network.

Ducati promises that this is the beginning of a completely new era in the brand’s Indian history, with the entire business plan being structured on different grounds than previously. A new dealership is being opened in Bangalore and Ducati is commited to replicate the successful business model throughout India.

Skilled, well-trained technicians and salespersons will be the key to Ducati’s business model

Ducati’s failure in the Indian market was trigged by the poor training of its former partners, who not only missed out the biggest points in the brand’s philosophy but also neglected the after-sales segment, Ducati sources mentioned previously. “Ducati India is also currently identifying, confirming and training a network of highly qualified and enthusiastic dealers ready to offer the 2015 models in other key cities,” a press release from Borgo Panigale informs us.

The main idea behind the strategic changes in Ducati’s approach is to make sure that buying and taking care of a Ducati in India must be a similar experience to what this means in any other place around the world, in Europe or North America. “I can now confirm that our after-sales service centers will ensure exactly the same high standards achieved across Ducati’s global network. We really appreciate the efforts put in by AMP and Infinity in setting up these world class dealerships in record time,” Ducati India Pvt Ltd Managing Director, Ravi Avalur added.

Indian customers will be offered the Diavel, Hypermotard, Monster and Superbike models in the first place, but the start of operations is also timed perfectly with the shipping of the new Scrambler. The cheapest model in Ducati’s roster, the Scrambler is also expected to become a best-seller. And affordability and the huge size of the Indian motorcycle market may also be two key elements to the success of Ducati’s re-entry in this Asian country.
