Ducati Diavel vs. Harley Low Rider. LOL, Why?

“Sense. This so-called race makes none” I was tempted to write in the title, but after enjoying watching the video a couple of times, I decided to be a little milder. Still, pitting a 2015 Ducati Diavel against a 2014 Harley-Davidson Dyna Low Rider seems like just another way to kill time and maybe practice some video editing skills… as the result can be only one, with the Ducati destroying the Harley.
We all know that the Diavel is a beast, with its liquid-cooled 1198cc Testastretta engine delivering north of 160 hp and a no-nonsense 96 lb-ft (130Nm) of torque. If you’ve ever ridden one, then you know there are only a handful of bikes in the world that can smoke the Diavel… but this was not the day.

Harley’s recently re-introduced Dyna Low Rider is a completely different kind of monster. Its 1688cc air-cooled, pushrod v-twin packs 103 lb-ft (139.7Nm) of torque, but on the power side, the bike is only good for under 86 horsies, and even if it obviously can ride much too fast for one’s health, it can never be a match to the Diavel.

The Italian muscle bike flew past the quarter mile mark in 10.197 seconds which is decent for a stock bike. However, it took Harley just under two seconds more to reach the ¼ mile distance. Now, truth is that despite losing the drag race, the Harley may come off better after this, and that is because while everybody expects the Diavel to blow pretty much any bike out of the water.. but the Low Rider going up against it somehow makes it look like some sort of high-performance monster as well. We know it isn’t, but we can’t either get mad or mock the Harley for such a race.

However, speaking of the Low Rider, we remind you that more than 3,300 bikes have been recently recalled for vibration issues. Installing aftermarket parts and revving past the 5,600 factory-set limit can cause the ignition switch to malfunction. Follow the link to read more on the Harley-Davidson Low Rider recall.
