The three year-long collaboration between Ducati and team Althea Racing has finally come to an end.
Despite the good results the two have had in the past, including a 2011 Manufacturers’ and Riders’ Superbike World Championship titles and 2011 Manufacturers’ and Riders’ titles of the Superstock series, there is no future together in 2013.
After doing great riding a Ducati 1198, Spanish pilot Carlos Checa has been confirmed to continue riding a Ducati in 2013, but this time it's going to be an 1199 Panigale. The Panigale has been under constant development during the last period and with 2013 closing in, we're expecting some declarations from Ducati rather soon.
No word got out on the 2013 team for Checa, and rumor goes that Ducati may come back to the track with a factory team. There is not much time left until the first race of the 2013 season, on February 24, in Australia, so things should be clearing up soon.
