Riding fast on nice winding roads with a friend or two is definitely one of the best things about motorcycling ever, but the more enthralling the twisties, the higher the risks.
This Ducati 1098 rider had a very close brush with the emergency room and possibly worse. But he was lucky enough to have his rear tire gaining traction quick enough.

Now, we can definitely say it was all his own mistake, as by 1:10 we can see him approaching the turn way too wide. On one hand, the fellow's clearance from the center line was a good idea, but as the turn was a left hander, the chances of some other driver with an even wider track were kind of low.

According to the uploader, both tires skidded into an incipient low-side, but regained traction in the last moment before the upcoming brutal high-side could occur.

The rider was also extremely lucky for not meeting any incoming traffic in the other lane as he was forced to run on the wrong side of the road. Safe and sound, but definitely in need of new underwear.
