According to Ducati corporate sources, the end of the partnership with Jet Sky Development Ltd. was not dictated by lack of performance, but by the company's needs to fuel a more substantial growth in the market. Ducati appreciates the collaboration with Jet Sky Development Ltd., and adds that the company played a major role in establishing the brand in China, thanks to an efficient and professional network.

Still, it looks like Ducati wants to take things to the next level, and this might be a nut too tough to crack for Jet Sky Development Ltd. Borgo Panigale wants to expand the presence in China, one of the strongest motorcycle markets in the world, and plans to capitalize on Audi's expertise in marketing premium vehicles.

Ten Ducati dealerships are currently operational in China, but Borgo Panigale wants more from this market

Currently, Ducati bikes are sold in ten dealerships in China, but the Italian manufacturer is looking to increase this number starting with 2016. No official plans and figures have been made public at the time of writing, so it's hard to estimate what are Ducati's expectations from the Chinese market.

Marco Elli, the head of the new Ducati China division only lets us know that the motorcycle manufacturer has solid plans with this market. "China has become a key growth market for Ducati worldwide. The new structure under Audi will enable us to further consolidate our premium position in terms of brand, products and services in China. We will increase our sales network in China in 2016 and further enlarge our customer experience program in China,” he says.

It is not known at the moment in wich way will Jet Sky Development Ltd. be involved, but Evan Mak, General Manager of the current Ducati importer says that the company "will continue to dedicate efforts in promoting the Ducati passion in China under Audi.
