We got wind (Italian wind) that Gabriele del Torchio, Ducati CEO may leave the Borgo Panigale headquarters and be en route to save an Italian airline company, Alitalia.
Del Torchio came to Ducati in 2007 and his managerial skills led to Audi confirming his position after they bought the bike manufacturer almost one year ago.

Alitalia's financial troubles are no secret and it seems like they are looking for the right guy to help the decline and set things back on a profitable track.

Ducati has fared quite well during the last few years and their figures for 2012 have shown a dramatic increase in operations, especially in the US. With prospects of entering the huge Indian market and making a slow, but steady recovery in the MotoGP sector, Ducati seems on a good track.

Their former racing director, Filippo Preziosi has been replaced by a German, Bernhard Gobmeier. Will we see a German in the CEO position in case the rumor on del Torchio's departure proves to be real news?
