Ducatisti all over the world have a great occasion for celebration next year, as 2016 marks the 90th anniversary for the Italian motorcycle manufacturer. The celebration of nine decades of sport bikes in Borgo Panigale will coincide, naturally, with the 2016 edition of the World Ducati Week (WDW).
The WDW 2016 is the ninth such event for Ducati, and represents the most important rally for Ducati owners and enthusiasts in the world. The 2016 event will be hosted at the Marco Simoncelli Misano World Circuit, from July 1 to 3.

Back in 2014, the World Ducati Week attracted a record crowd, with more than 65,000 participants from five continents and 56 countries. To understand how strong the passion of the Ducatisti is, we must tell you that the 2014 edition saw people coming from USA, Europe, Australia, Russia, India, Brazil, China, Malaysia and even more exotic countries, such as Gabon, Iceland, or Nepal.

A family business that evolved into a huge name

The Ducati story started back on the 4th of July 1926, when three brothers, Adriano, Bruno and Marcello Cavalieri Ducati, founded the Societa Scientifica Radio Brevetti Ducati, with assistance from their father, Antonio.

Since then, Ducati has become the home of excellence in the motorcycle making business, and attracted some of the most talented engineers, designers, and riders.

With its inherent ups and downs, Ducati's history took a wild turn in 2012, when German car manufacturer Audi bought the company. With new resources at hand, Ducati steadily grew and in November 2015 passed the 50,000 units sold milestone, a premiere for the company.

The increase in competitiveness also reflected in MotoGP, with the new boss of Ducati Corse, former Aprilia engineer Gigi Dall'Igna, building a bike that put Ducati back on the podium after several fruitless years.

Ducati will announce the program for the World Ducati Week 2016 later, with the all-new XDiavel and Multistrada 1200 Enduro bikes and the Land of Joy Scrambler-dedicated area being the first attractions of the event. Stay tuned for more.
