It's a Chilean Ducati dealer we have to thank for the new, better-quality photos of Ducati's Superleggera version of the Panigale R.
Those hoping to see a more flamboyant bike (like I was) will be kind of disappointed, as Ducati chose a spartan livery and simply added a large white stripe to the fairing and tail section, pretty much in the vein of their MotoGP machines.

While the bike may seem rather dull to some, it's the abundant use of ultra-lightweight materials which seem to make a difference. Carbon fibers was used extensively and both parts and heat shields are saving up weight.

Forged magnesium wheels, a lithium-ion battery and many more (check list below) are summing up to a total weight saving of 22 lbs (9.9 kg), a bit off the 40 lbs (18.1 kg) figure which was initially rumored. However, we'll just have to wait a bit more for full official specs and then pass judgement, of course.

So far, it looks like the Superleggera is around 342 lbs (154.9 kg), which is of course, awesome, because it's kind of close to MX machines' weight. Waiting for more photo goodies...
