There will be quite a lot of work in the authorized dealerships and services until the very last of the defective Ohlins TTX rear shock absorbers will be replaced or repaired. It's time for Ducati owners to get in touch with their dealers and schedule repairs, according to the NHTSA recall campaign number 15V268.
No less than 549 bikes will have to pay a visit to the Ducati workshops in their area to have the rear monoshock replaced or repaired, as will be the case. These bikes belong to the 2014 model year 1199 Panigale S and 1199 Panigale R, but the ultra-exclusive 1199 Superleggera is on the list, as well.

Technically, all 500 Superleggera machines around the world might need a repair

The 1199 Superleggera is an exclusive machine based on the 1199 Panigale, but was kept on a strict diet. Multiple high-end components and lightweight materials made the Superleggera one of the lightest superbikes around.

Manufactured in a very limited, 500-unit run, the Superleggera was sold on an invite-only basis, making it even rarer and more sought after. Still, it looks like it would not escape the Ohlins rear shock absorber issues.

Both the Superleggera and the S and R versions of the 1199 Panigale have been manufactured with a potentially defective Ohlins monoshock. Like we already mentioned on multiple occasions, the piston rod nut was not torqued properly, and in certain conditions, it can loosen.

If this happens, the rear suspension of the affected bikes will operate with reduced performance or fail completely, dramatically increasing the risk of a crash.

Superleggera monoshocks to be repaired, 1199 Panigale S and R ones replaced altogether

The rear shock absorber on the Superleggera will be dismounted from the bike by authorized technicians and sent to Ohlins for repairs, in case it belongs to certain lot numbers. Once repaired, the monoshock will receive a punch mark point-shaped addition next to the lot number.

As the component will have to be sent to Ohlins, it may take a while until the Superleggera riders are back in the saddle. 1199 Panigale S and R owners are a bit luckier, as the Ducati dealers will have to order a completely new shock and replace the defective one entirely.

If the parts are in stock, they might be back on two wheels much sooner than their ultralight fellows. The recall is scheduled to begin later in June, with no accident or injury caused by the mentioned defect reported to date. More details in the attached PDF.
