Since the Dubai Police has been constantly updating its supercar fleet, other services in the area couldn’t be left behind, literally - let’s take the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Serives, for example. They’ve recently added a Lotus Evora, introducing this as a First Responder.
Since the Evora is a two-seater, many may wonder how this could be of service to those in critical condition. As the company explains, the sportscar has the aim to help emergeny responders halve the time in which they reach an emergency. Their current average value is 8 minutes and, with the help of the British machine, this should drop to 4 minutes.

The luggage capacity may not recommend the Evora either, the vehicle can carry items such as a responder bag, a suction unit, cardiac defibrillators, oxygen bags and others. The boot obviously isn't enough, so a part of these are stored behind the seats.

The Evora joins a pair of Mustangs, which were added to the fleet this summer, obviously with the same aim. We’re talking about the 2014 model here, which is not exactly the first choice when it come to city agility, but hey, at least this is one spacious coupe.

At first, the cars will be paraded around the city, but the Corporations explains these will be used daily by the end of the year.

Special training for the drivers

Dubai traffic is one environment when you wouldn’t want to make a mistake. With in-city highway lanes and the most varied of driving styled, you need to stay focused. The corporation has obviously thought of that, so the emergency responders that drive these cars receive specialized training. When your vehicle can hit 60 mph in 4.8 seconds, you certainly need that.

As always with Dubai, the high-horsepower ambulance developments don’t stop here. The Dubai Ambulance fleet is expected to receive a Chevrolet Corvette in the future, that’s all we can tell you for now. When you think about the fact that the Dubai Police fleet is led by nothing less than a Bugatti Veyron, this may not seem all that out of place.
