Like having an out of this world supercar fleet wasn’t good enough, Dubai police is hitting the spot again. While they’ll be cruising the streets in their white and green Lambos, officers will also wear Google Glasses to identify their suspects.
Dubai police force just won’t stop triggering the world’s coolest one, won’t it? General director of smart services, Colonel Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi, has just announced that the officers are running a new test program using Google Glass to run the recognition software with.

“One will allow them to take photos of traffic violations from the Glass, which will go instantly into our system,” he explained. “The other application helps identify wanted cars. [...] We at Dubai Police always try to adopt what is new in the market and we like to stay up-to-date.”

The program will also include two custom apps for Glass. One will upload the photos of the traffic scofflaws and the other will alert the officers whenever it finds license plates in trouble with the law.

Well, license plate recognition software is already used in many forces around the world, but they don’t get it with the Glass. When you think of the Lamborghini Aventador, , Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and Bentley Continental GT patrolling on the streets, Google Glass is only the next step to expect, isn’t it?

Looking at Dubai’s police force high-tech arsenal of pursuit vehicles and at the newest gadgets on the market the officers get to use you’d think RoboCop isn’t that far from reality after all.
