Vehicle thefts in Dubai have been on an increase and the Police is making serious efforts to deal with this issue. As part of a plan put together by the authorities, the police will fine drivers who leave their cars unattended with their engines running.
According to emirates247.com, Dubai drivers are used to leaving their vehicles with their engines running while hitting the shops, which has led to a hefty increase in thefts of these cars. To be more specific, at least 10 percent of thefts involve such situations.

From now on, drivers who do this face a fine of 300 Emirati Dirhams ($81 at the current exchange rate). In addition to that, the police is advising drivers to lock their doors when leaving the vehicle.

Our say: forget the new Grand Theft Auto V, just go to Dubai.
