When Dubai's officials announced they would take all that oil money and make their little corner of the sandy world into a tourist destination, we thought they'd never be able to do it. And yet they've achieved their aim, so well in fact that their police force is so rich it uses supercars to patrol.
The latest monster added to the roster is none other than the legendary 1000 hp supreme king of the road, the Bugatti Veyron.

That's right, the car on every kid's bedroom wall for the last 10 years is now patrolling the streets to the sound of W12 force-induced power. If that's not a reason for national pride, we don't know what is.

We have two videos of the car that arrived after its debut yesterday. One is the official one, the other an on-sight clip from Shmee150, who says the previous Aston One-77 has been retired. It's just a publicity stunt, but we'd visit Dubai just to see the police cars, so it's not a bad one.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
