You can basically say everything you want about how the French carmakers do their business, but ugly cars were never on the menu for them. It's also good to know this tradition goes on with the DS4 facelift and DS4 Crossback version.
Today, the internet met the latest creations coming from Citroen's premium marque, namely DS Automobiles. The division will bring two models next month in Frankfurt: the new DS4 and its Crossback version, and we have all the info you can digest on them.

As usual, the DS4 and his more practical brother are all about customization options. We're talking about a two-tone offering with a choice of four colours dedicated for the roof, rear spoiler, door mirrors and hub caps.

Along with those, clients can choose Perla Nera Black, Whisper Purple, Virtual Blue or Tourmaline Orange finish (coming as options) for 38 possible color combinations.

A new Crossback version

With this one, DS Automobiles claims to address customers looking for 'urban and extra-urban adventure’. Besides the body shape, you can differentiate it from the regular DS4 thanks to the new wheel arch trims and grey roof bars.

"A DS is identified first and foremost through its body style, unique proportions with a strong personality. Our choice for DS 4? A wide road-hugging body style for the New DS 4 hatchback version and an elegant go-anywhere style for DS 4 Crossback. With these two distinct vehicles, we are remaining true to our ambition: to deliver a new and exciting experience," explained Thierry Metroz, Design Director at DS Automobiles.

Engines

For both the hatchback and the crossover, several diesel and petrol mills will be available, including a PureTech mill with 130 horsepower and 230 Nm and the top-of-the-range THP 210 powerplant that offers 210 horsepower & 285 Nm of torque, but this unit will only be found on the DS4 hatchback

In the diesel territory, we can find a BlueHDi 210 mill with 120 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque, plus the king of the hill BlueHDi 180 unit with 180 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque.
