DS Automobiles has unveiled the facelifted versions of its DS3 and DS3 Cabrio models.
The two hatchbacks feature new design elements, updated technology, and more upgrades. Since the launch of these two models, they have achieved over 390,000 sales worldwide.
On the design side, the facelift brings a revised front end along with more personalization possibilities for the DS3 and the DS3 Cabrio. The two models have the brand’s new logo, LED and Xenon headlamps, a new chrome grille, and the brand’s signature “DS Wings.” The rear of the car now has 3D LED lights and other styling changes.
The two-tone body/roof color combinations have been kept, thankfully. The stylish French hatchback is now available with more personalization options, including new colors and fabrics.
The level of driving assistance systems has been enhanced, and so have the connectivity options. The facelifted DS3 comes with Mirror Screen functionality that features Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on the car’s new seven-inch touchscreen. Thanks to the new screen, the DS3 has 20 fewer buttons on the center console.
DS3 drivers will get to connect their smartphones with their cars via the MyDS free app. Users will be able to view fuel economy, parking location, and servicing schedule on the free app.
The DS3 also receives the DS Connect Box feature package. This includes Sos & Assistance pack, a feature that makes automatic emergency calls in the event of a serious accident, a virtual maintenance manual that monitors mileage and notifies the owner of future service necessities, a customizable vehicle localization system, and even GPS anti-theft monitoring.
The model will also benefit from an Active City Brake system to mitigate low-speed collisions at up to 30 km/h (18 MPH) and is fitted with front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, along with a Hill Start Assist for manual gearbox versions.
Furthermore, DS Automobiles now offers a new PureTech 130 three-cylinder turbo engine and a new EAT6 automatic six-speed gearbox featured with the PureTech 110 HP gasoline engine. This range is available with seven engines.
The carmaker also offers a performance variant of its subcompact hatchbacks, called DS3 Performance, which delivers 208 HP and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) from a 1.6-liter THP unit.
The performance version of the DS3 features a Torsen limited-slip differential in standard, along with a six-speed manual transmission with shorter gear ratios. Other performance specifications have not been published.
