Drunk Driver Caught With Guinness Pint in Car’s Cup Holder

What’s a night out on the town without a pint of cold beer? However, beer shouldn’t even be an option if you’re driving, either at the pub or in the car itself.

This guy from Acocks Green, Birmingham, U.K., didn’t get the memo. He went out drinking at the weekend and took the party with him when he left in his Hyundai, so when the cops pulled him over, they found open containers and drugs in his car.

The dude even had a pint of Guinness in the cup holder, as the photo attached to this article shows. The officers from Acocks Green Police couldn’t but wonder about the audacity of the man (he must have been fairly drunk, we assume), so they decided to turn him into an example, while also mocking him slightly.

“This man is going to have a headache in interview this morning!
” the PD writes on the official page on Twitter, alongside photos of the car’s interior. “A great spot and arrest last night by the team - arrested for drink drive and possession with intent to supply. We also seized his vehicle.”

So, the dude wasn’t just traveling with open containers in his car, from which he was drinking while driving, but he also had plenty of drugs on him, all of which he was planning to sell. He was in a generous mood, wanted to keep the party going by inviting others as well.

All jokes aside, drinking and driving at the wheel isn’t illegal in the U.K. per se. Nonetheless, if it’s determined that either activity is distracting from driving, it can lead to a careless driving charge, which carries a £100 fine and three penalty points off the driver’s license.

This only applies to non-alcoholic drinks, naturally. Drinking alcohol and driving is illegal, as is in every other country in the world.
