Drug Dealers Like Their Ford Super Duty Mad Max-ed

It's a dangerous line of work, this drug dealing business. Especially if you operate in the countries of South America, where local authorities have made a habit out of sending the army to get you, and not just poorly armed police officers.

And then there's social status. As a drug dealer, who just can't be seen driving a Fiesta or a Beetle to the local supermarket, now can you? You need something special. Something that, ironically, screams “drug dealer on board” to the very law enforcement agencies you are trying to avoid.

Somewhere in Mexico, local authorities got their hands on the exact opposite of the Beetle. A truly one-off 2011 Ford Super Duty. Black, menacing, armor plated and fitted with a rotating turret, room for ten heavily armed Joses, GPS navigation, tire-protection, just about anything a battle-ready machine would need.

The truck was also empty, abandoned by the very people it was retrofitted to protect. Otherwise, seizing it might have not gone so well for the pistol-armed police officers.

The official story behind this Super Duty is not known. Police suspects it belonged to a local cartel called Sinaloa. Just one of the many pieces of superior equipment the cartels possess in Mexico, equipment that, according to Inside Line, is even said to include submarines.

The police are not saying what they intend to do with the Super Duty. But since they're complaining about the equipment the federal authorities is providing for them, then they might as well use it.
