We know the “don’t drink and drive” message and we like to think you guys do too. But it turns out some people out there really believe that as long as they’re driving a big car nothing bad can happen to them, so a glass of beer or two won’t be a problem. Well, you should know some folks are now facing prison just because of that. It’s the case of the guy who rear-ended Jennifer Lopez’ Rolls-Royce a couple of months ago.
The 45-year old singer was riding in the passenger seat of her new Rolls-Royce while her friend Leah Remini was holding the wheel. They were driving along the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, back in September when they stopped at a light.

That’s the moment a drunk driver hit them. The man was at the wheel of a small pick-up truck when he smashed in the rear of the singer’s luxury ride.

Like we previously reported, officers raced to the scene and found the driver a short distance away, with the man turning out to be under the influence. According to TMZ, it turns out it wasn’t just one glass of beer, since the blood alcohol content was .15. Moreover, the guy was doing almost twice the legal limit and now could face time behind bars.

The L.A. County D.A.’s office is charging the man, later identified as Robert John Reitz, with two misdemeanor counts of DUI, which means the driver is facing 6 months in jail and a $1,000 fine if he’ll get convicted.

You see, even if nobody gets hurt, really bad things can happen to you when you drink and drive. Since New Year's is coming, we'd advise you guys to take a cab.
