There are some countries where policemen take their jobs extremely serious and they are not at all inclined to bend the law, even if we might be talking about a tiny sip.
It seems that a young driver by the name of Sophie Vaughan was spotted by a policeman taking a tiny sip from her raspberry Slush Puppie in her convertible Ford Ka. As a result, she managed to get quite a pricey fine. Apparently, the officer, who was riding a bike, called three other policemen for backup and went on with handing the fine. In case you were wondering how much the 22 year-old girl was fined, we’re talking US$100.
This didn’t brought forth the most ok reaction from Sophie as she described her treatment as “petty and ridiculous,” and she even went on to say that she intends to appeal the penalty. Moreover, being the kind of driver that had a spotless driving record before the accident, she couldn’t actually believe the whole thing.
Her words were “I’m outraged. And talk about overkill — to have four police officers dealing with such a petty thing is a joke.” Well, she might think that, but the policemen were pretty serious saying that they decided to fine her for driving without due care and attention. Talk about taking your job really serious.
